Rance Aluminum
The original manufacturer of strictly all aluminum open and enclosed trailers. They are the innovator of the aerodynamically designed v-nose sloped roof trailer. They are known for their open and enclosed motorcycle, snowmobile, ATV, car hauler and utility trailers.
Founded in 1988, Rance Aluminum Fabrication, Inc. has been one of the leading innovators of the All-Aluminum trailer industry. At that time the kinds of components necessary for such an undertaking and many had to be engineered and designed to suit their specific needs. Thus was born the "Renegade", the first enclosed trailer of its kind. We are confident you will notice the difference in comparison. From the strong, aluminum chassis and walls to the innovative v-nose/slope nose design for aerodynamics and smoother handling, down to the stainless steel hardware and fasteners, no details have been overlooked.
Features include:
~ lightweight aluminum construction materials and aerodynamic v-nose & sloped roof makes for significant fuel savings
~ exclusively uses high-quality T-6 webbed tubing for the entire construction
~ all stainless and aluminum hardware
~ standard LED lighting
~ sure-lube axles so there is no need to pull off wheel hubs to grease the wheel bearings
~ torsion axles makes for a smoother ride
~ 5 year warranty
Rance Aluminum Factoids: The Rance Aluminum goal has always been the structural integrity of their trailers. There are many types of aluminum alloys, with each alloy having different strengths and weaknesses. Rance Aluminum trailers uses an aluminum alloy known as a 6000 series (T6) extrusion and aluminum alloy #5356 welding wire for every chassis they make! One of the benefits of this combination is the ability to flex without taking a set. But the biggest benefit is it’s tensile strength! Another option would be to use a T-5 aluminum (like our competitors do) and a #4043 welding wire. The option is less expensive and the alloy is easier to work with. The T-5 is easier to weld and one is able to form, or bend it with less effort, but it lacks the strength of the T-6.
Typical Tensile Properties
Base Alloy Comparison T-5 T-6
Tensile Strength 40psi x 103 vs: 45psi x 103
Yield Strength 31 psi x 103 vs: 40psi x 103
Elongation % 19% in 2” vs: 12% in 2”
Typical Shear Strength – Fillet Welds
4043 5356
Longitudinal 11.5ksi vs: 17.0ksi
Transverse 20.0ksi vs: 26.0ksi
